1. Villefranche-sur-Mer

La Mère Germaine opened its doors in 1938 and has been welcoming customers ever since to its upmarket premises on the waterfront in this colourful seaside port. Its’ specialities are unsurprisingly – seafood and shell fish – and its bouillabaisse is one of the best in the region.

2. Eze-sur-Mer

Anjuna is an institution on the French Riviera and should be visited at least once a lifetime! Set in a bay hidden from view, the restaurant is on a private beach and has an incredible menu with specialities such as calamari, tuna sashimi and tempura with shrimps. There’s often live music and an amazing party atmosphere. Prepare for a good day out.

3. Eze Village

Meanwhile, situated high above Eze Plage and the antics of Anjuna is the very stylish Chevre d’Or. The two-starred Michelin restaurant, in the Relais & Chateau hotel of the same name, offers an exceptional menu with views to match. Another legendary restaurant with an international following is the African Queen, in Beaulieu-sur-Mer. 5. Cap d’Ail
